OK. Weird movie. Interesting. Masochist finds work as the secretary of a sadist trying to get his life under control. Thus begins the strange and tumultuous relationship between them around which the movie is focused. Because Secretary tells the story of irrational and atypical love, it doesn't necessarily follow rational patterns of thought and at points can be downright weird. But the beauty of this film lies in its surreality and in the complexity of its characters. Don't look to understand the film. Like real people, the characters don't always act oir think in ways that can be understood. The movie is nothing more than an insight into a different world where the definitions of what is acceptable and what is not are blurred. I recommend this movie. Though it is not for all people, it does provide a good 2 hours of entertainment and brainwork too. Plus, Donnie Darko's sister is reason enough to watch...
